Josh Weathers at The Epic Theater

Official Partner: Texas Trust Credit Union

The Epic Theater is proud to present “An Acoustic Evening with Josh Weathers.”   In 2013,  After a recorded clip of him singing “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston went viral on YouTube, Weathers has since been a rising star.  In 2011, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram called him “the hardest working man in local music.”  He even performed at the Salute To Our Armed Services Ball as part of the Presidential Inauguration weekend.

In 2014, Weathers actually left music to focus on more philanthropic efforts, then returned to the craft last year when he realized music will help those efforts. Those efforts have materialized into The “Love Like You Mean It” nonprofit, which is dedicated to “changing the treatment of young girls and women in India who, [at] as young as 5 years old, are cast into sex and slave trafficking.”

On May 17th, The Fort Worth bluesman will perform an acoustic set in what’s likely to be the highest-profiled gig to date for The Epic Theater. Come support Josh in an intimate, acoustic setting as he sings all of his greatest hits.

The seven–month project commenced in August 2018 and is culminating in a district and city-wide exhibition of 1,500 paintings and drawings, focused on themes of diversity, understanding, mutual respect, and the guiding question: How can a variety of voices work together to build a compassionate community?

All month long The Epic has been showcasing part of the LOVE project. Breaker Boys
LIVE MUSIC ON APRIL 9th! Join in the music and merriment, come see the Breaker Boys perform live at The Epic Theater!
The Breaker Boys are an Irish and American folk band bringing to audiences of all ages the old songs of romance, courage, sorrow, and mirth with youthful energy and merriment like never before. Bringing a draught of vintage to the folks of a modern world, their delightful tales bring laughter, their haunting choruses tears, and their enchanting melodies a wonder. Join them in the sailor’s song, the lover’s tune, and the occasional burglar’s call as they raise a ruckus and knock the dust off the rafters for old time’s sake.
The band is comprised of a whole host of different instruments played by the five members: guitar, banjo, upright bass, bohdran, fiddle, penny whistle, flute, harmonica, banjolelle, mandolin, bouzouki, spoons, and tenor banjo.
We’ve performed at the Irving Arts Center, Trinity Hall, Camp Constantin, St. Francis Oktoberfest, Kath 910 am, and various bars and cafes in Texas. When not performing at a venue, we entertain crowds with a lively busking act, singing and playing the rousing choruses of lovers and fighters at places like The Deep Ellum Arts Festival and South lake Town Center.
The Breaker Boys recently won “The Best Performance Variety Award” at the Irving Talent Show.
