Less than Two Weeks Away – An Acoustic Evening with Josh Weathers – May 17th

By | Epic Extras

We are under 2 weeks away from the debut of Josh Weathers at The Epic Theater, presented by TexasTrust and tickets are almost gone.  Click HERE for tickets before they sell out!

The Epic Theater is proud to present “An Acoustic Evening with Josh Weathers.”   In 2013, After a recorded clip of him singing “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston went viral on YouTube, Weathers has since been a rising star.  In 2011, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram called him “the hardest working man in local music.”  He even performed at the Salute to Our Armed Services Ball as part of the Presidential Inauguration weekend.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xh6fxaQkm8

In 2014, Weathers actually left music to focus on more philanthropic efforts, then returned to the craft last year when he realized music will help those efforts. Those efforts have materialized into The “Love Like You Mean It” nonprofit, which is dedicated to “changing the treatment of young girls and women in India who, at as young as 5 years old, are cast into sex and slave trafficking.”

On May 17th, The Fort Worth bluesman will perform an acoustic set in what’s likely to be the highest-profiled gig to date for The Epic Theater. Come support Josh in an intimate, acoustic settnig as he sings all of his greatest hits.

Joshua Moore at The Epic Theater presented by: Texas Trust (3/22)

By | Epic Extras

The following is an excerpt from Joshua’s website, including a description of Joshua’s newest album.

Super heroes, Tooth fairies, Santa Claus, and the Boogie Man—- growing up in small town Alabama, Joshua Moore believed in them all.  As a kid, Joshua was famous around town for putting on front yard talent shows where he was always the main attraction.  He would create the music, craft his own costumes, and put together, what he believed were, show stopping performances.  His siblings were constantly laughing, “That’s just Josh”.  His parents knew he was different… always dreaming.  His voice had a natural vibe.  His melodies would wrap you up like cool, autumn breezes; cozy, slow winters; spring newness; and,  long, lazy summer days. Currently, Joshua is committed to translating those melodies into amazing music with a global purpose.  His desire is to shine hope, love, and peace in the world. His music is his message.

Joshua’s debut album, “The Many Faces of Joshua Moore”  (released Summer 2018), promises to etch his musical genius into your soul,  with these extraordinary original songs —

“Peace” invites the world to heal itself.  It is a prayer for peace that can heal all nations and people, in a world where war, including nuclear annihilation often seem fingertips away.

“We The People – (A Revolution Song)”  is a powerful song about revolution of thought, power in unity, and the world’s people claiming life, liberty, and happiness. It is a timely and timeless song celebrating movement and movements all over the world.

“Home” gets inside of you, and sets up camp.  Is home a place?   Is it a space in time?  Is it a relationship?   Is it a feeling?  A chameleon idea; “Home” will stick to your bones long after the last note.  It resonates.

“Trading Places” reminds you of who you are at your center, at your core. Hauntingly naked and honest, it is an innocent return to self.

Some spend a lifetime searching for “It”.  That thing that gives life meaning.  That thing that makes life worth living.  “Destiny” takes you around the world to bring you back to the realization that “It” is within.

“Live” is a song about release, relief, and understanding that we only control the man in the mirror.  After your best, “just let it go”!

“Dreaming”  is simply a song about love.

“Mud On Your Boots” is a good ole’ knee slapping, barn raising, line-dancing country party song headed straight to Nashville.  Josh calls it his international country love song.  Some say country is just the blues with a twang!  You decide. Quick to tell you he’s a country boy, JMo embraces his brand of “country” with a passion. There is more where this one came from.  Hold on to your horses!

Super heroes, Tooth fairies,  Santa, and the Boogie Man linger as fond memories from Joshua’s childhood,  but Joshua’s music dream is very much alive, real, and ready for the world.

“My desire is to create music with a global purpose, shining lights of hope, love,  and peace in the midst of a seemingly daily onslaught of pain and evil gripping the world.  The only thing I know for sure is that I was born to sing. For me, singing is as natural as breathing.  I love it.  It is my purpose. God has given me this gift to make a difference.  From my lips to the world’s ear.  I come in Love! ”   – Joshua Moore

Here are the performer’s participating in the competition (In no particular performance order)

Anoxik
They are 13 and 14 years old and began playing together about 2 years ago. Playing live shows with large crowds is what they love to do. Anoxik currently has ongoing gigs in Dallas, Rockwall, Royce City, Greenville, Caddo Mills, and Garland TX.  They started out as the House Band for the School of Rock in Rockwall.  “Our band is grateful for those experiences and it fueled our excitement for more live shows. House of Blues in Dallas, Six Flags of Texas Arlington Spring break shows were great. We recently traveled to San Antonio for our America’s Got Talent Audition.  We’ve recorded tracks at Luminous Sound Studio here in Dallas. It was a great experience for us. We are heading back in to record more originals and a collaboration recording is coming out soon. Stay tuned!”

Dirty Mondo
He has been making music since he was 14.  He is pretty much a one man band, he sings, plays guitar and piano.  Dirty Mondo has played showed shows in other bands before he had the opportunity to play his own songs.  He also makes beats for local rappers and singers.

Joe Dondo
Joe is an independent singer, songwriter, producer, and musician.  He has been practicing his craft for 10 years and has spent the last 3 years practicing live shows in Los Angeles, California where he was born.  His ultimate goal is to write songs that people of all ages relate too.  His music consists of homemade beats and electric guitar.

Michael Sanchez
Michael Sanchez is a singer/songwriter who was born and raised in Grand Prairie.  His love for music started before he could talk and his current musical direction is inspired by the great pop era of the 90’s.  You could say that he’s bringing back a style of music and showmanship that has been missing for decades.  He has performed such places as Silverlake Lounge in L.A., Pittsburgh State University in Kansas, and SXSW in Austin.  He has performed locally at House of Blues, Trees, RBC, and other local venues in Deep Ellum.  In December 2017 he released the 4th and final EP in a series called “Seasons,” and he currently has two EP’s scheduled to release before this summer.  “90’s Crush” will be released in February, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The Royals

Their main influence is music from the late 70’s – early 2000’s. especially Pink Floyd, Queen, Journey, Led Zeppellin, and The Beatles.  They have two singles on Apple Music and Spotify and are working towards their goal of recording their debut album, “Kings Row”, in February and mid-March.
