Camp Epic ages 5-12 years of age is currently full and we are no longer taking registrations.

Grand Prairie Parks, Arts & Recreation Department offers other youth day camps at Tony Shotwell Life Center, Charley Taylor Recreation Center, and Dalworth Recreation Center.  Visit for more details.


Summer Camp
June 6 – August 12

  • Week 1:  June 6 – June 10
  • Week 2:  June 13 – June 17
  • Week 3:  June 20 – June 24
  • Week 4:  June 27 – July 1
  • Week 5:  July 5 – July 8 (no camp July 4th)
  • Week 6:  July 11 – July 15
  • Week 7:  July 18 – July 22
  • Week 8:  July 25 – July 29
  • Week 9:  August 8 – August 12

Camp runs from 7:00 a.m.  – 6:00 p.m.

  • Drop-off: 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. (rise and shine programming)
  • Building rotation: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (mid-day programming)
  • Pick-up: 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (wind down programming)


Registration starts April 1

Registration Steps:

  1. Select the age group of your child or first child you would like to register. This will take you to an information page.  Click “Enroll Now” which will take you to a sign-in page unless you are already logged in.
  2. Login: IF YOU ARE A MEMBER, DO NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT!   If you are a member or have participated in programs at the Epic, use the email you have on file with the Epic.  If you do not know what that email is please see camp contacts at the bottom of this page or contact Guest Services at 972-339-3742.
  3. Password: You may reset your password if you do not know it. If it is not sent to your email, then contact us to make sure we have the right email on file.
  4. If you are not a member or have never done an activity at the Epic, please create a new account.
  5. Select the weeks you would like to register your child for. Make sure to register for all the weeks you want otherwise if they become full you will be placed on a waiting list.
  6. Answer the Enrollment detail questions.
  7. If enrolling a 2nd child, then click “Register another participant”.  Once done with all your child registrations click “Add to Cart”.
  8. You may view order details under “Order Summary” and each child’s registration details by clicking the “$dollar”.
  9. Note: All registrations are set-up with a payment plan with only the $25 Registration Fee and First week of camp charged per child. However, if you would like to make a payment in full for all weeks, deselect the “Use Payment Plan” button.
  10. Read and initial your recognition of the Waiver.
  11. Check Out and make payment.


Summer Camp
$25 Registration Fee per child
Epic Member: $110 per week
Non-member: $130

  • Child must be a member to receive the member discount
  • Registration fee and payment for first week will be due at the time of registration and you will have the option to pay all the weeks in full or have each additional week auto drafted.
  • Auto drafts will come out the Friday before the start of registered week.
  • To cancel a payment for a week of camp, the request must be made 7 days prior to the start of registered week.
  • Week of July 4th will be prorated prior to that week starting due to no camp on the 4th.


Financial aid is available for residents that qualify.

  1. To save a spot for camp, you must register and pay full price for the first week and registration fee. If you need to wait to see if you qualify, camp spots are not reserved and if they fill up you may be put on a waiting list.
  2. Fill out the Financial Aid packet and provide all the necessary documentation.
  3. Once processed you will be notified if you have been approved.
  4. If you do not qualify, we can issue you a full refund if you no longer wish to participate in camp.

Ages: 5-15

  • Scouts:  Ages 5-7
  • Explorers:  Ages: 8-9
  • Adventurers:  Ages 10-12
  • Teen Camp: 13-15

Counselor to camper ratio: 1:12


Lunch Time:  12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Lunch is provided by the parent.  Please pack a disposable sacked lunch that does not require a refrigerator or microwave.

Snack Times:  9:30 a.m. & 3:30 p.m.

Two snacks will be provided per day.  There will not be any snacks with nuts.  Please be sure to pack extra snacks if your child has any food allergies, intolerances or specific preferences.

Lunch and snack times are approximate.


Swim Time: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.  Swim days for each age group are TBA

Make sure to pack swimwear, a change of clothes & a towel.  Outside pool toys are not allowed.

What to Expect:
Campers will have 4 options:

  • Option 1: Parent/Guardian requires that the child always wear a lifejacket while swimming.
  • Option 2: Parent/Guardian chooses to have their child take a swim test to be in the water without the lifejacket. Those who do not pass the swim test will be required to wear a life jacket.
  • Option 3: Parent/Guardian allows their child to bypass the swim test and be in the water without a lifejacket. Lifeguards have final say and if they deem that a child needs a lifejacket, a lifejacket will be required.
  • Option 4: Parent/Guardian does not allow their child to swim.

Those that need lifejackets are tagged with a specific color wrist band, and those that don’t will receive a different color wrist band.

  • Drop-off and pick-up will be through our back parking lot entrance between 7:00-9:00 a.m. & 4:00-6:00 p.m. More detailed directions will be emailed out later.
  • Upon check-in, the parent/guardian will receive an identification number that must be presented at check-out. If the number is not available at check-out, the parent or guardian will need to show identification.

My Camp App

  • This app will be our primary way of communicating to parents/guardians.
  • Each parent/guardian will be emailed sign-in instructions sometime after registration.


  • Each child will be responsible for keeping up with their belongings throughout the day, so pack lightly.


  • Electronics are each camper’s responsibility.
  • Electronics may only be used leisurely during drop-off and pick-up times.
  • Campers may use their phones to contact parents during the day as needed.
