The Epic Culinary Chef – Stories from the Kitchen

By | Extras épicos

October, one of my favorite months of the year.  Finally, we begin seeing the triple digit temps drop down to something much more bearable, pumpkins start appearing in the floral departments at the grocery stores, Halloween candy is in full display, and football and tailgating are in full swing.  We aren’t quite to the “holidays” but we can feel it.

This month in The Epic Culinary Kitchen, we are bringing some talented individuals, presenting some great classes and preparing amazing dishes to share with you.

On October 17 at 6:30 p.m. join us as we bring new ideas for your next tailgate with our game day favorites.  Learn and taste.

Saturday October 19 at 11:00 a.m. Tyra Garcia is bringing us the knowledge, the procedure, and the terrific taste of nutrient dense cooking.  We all know we need to include nutrient dense food to our diets but what does this mean? What does this look like? Most important, what does it taste like?  Come start your healthy eating journey with the information you need and the excitement to get you going.

As always I invite you to visit jointheepic.com select “Arts” then click on “Culinary”.  Here you can view all of October’s offerings, including a couple of fun and festive kid’s classes. Remember – membership is not required to attend a class.

Have a terrific weekend and come join a class or two.

The Epic Culinary Kitchen – The Kitchen Table

By | Extras épicos

I have always believed that the kitchen table is the heart of the home. Where everything and everyone comes together, where problems are discussed and hopefully solved, where celebrations occur, where love is shared in happy or sad times, and when you have something exciting to share.  Well, I am excited to share that a community member called and asked if she could use “our” kitchen tables to announce the launching of her new book, Get off the Struggle Bus, by: Jamese Willis. I hope you will come out and meet Jamese and spend time listening to her speak.

Jamese will showcase her book in The Epic Culinary Kitchen on Saturday September 28 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

You may pre order her book here.

People can pre-order the book at 25% off. After the 28th it will be $20 via lulu.com

More times than I’d like to remember I’ve been asked the question: “Why are you still single?” My answer was always: “I don’t know.” After going through all the reasons why I shouldn’t be single I’d try to jump into the dating world with no success. Have you ever been there? You’ve done everything you think you could and thought: ‘Why am I being punished?’ Good News: You’re not being punished rather you’re being prepared and refined. I had to realize that singleness is truly a gift and I needed to live without worry. This book is chuck full of crazy dating stories, come to Jesus moments and comedy. If you’re tired of riding the struggle bus of singleness take this journey with me and ride in purpose. Jamese Willis

Upcoming at The Epic Culinary Kitchen – It’s So Vegan

By | Extras épicos

There are many creative and interesting people that surround us in our daily lives.  I think that if most of us would slow down to really observe and talk occasionally we would all be amazed at how fascinating the world around us really is.

One of the many benefits of working in the culinary industry through The Epic is the unique individuals that reach out to be a part of our program. I am truly blessed to be in a position that attracts others who have a love of cooking, tasting, and experiencing food in ways beyond just the act of eating.

Amiya is among many chefs who are making food prepared from unique ingredients comfortable for the rest of us.  Making a name for herself as the queen of Vegan Soul food she will make her initial appearance in our culinary kitchen this coming Monday evening.  Her class is filling quickly so I do encourage you to reserve or purchase your tickets soon.

I hope you will come out to be educated, to laugh, to taste, and to really experience her passion which is Vegan Soul Food.
