Ballet Folklorico at The Epic!

The Epic is so happy to bring Ballet Folklorico to the community for men, women, boys & girls, ages 5 and up. Monthly registration includes practice every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Ballet Folklorico is a traditional Mexican folk dance with ballet characteristics. Dance helps fundamental development by accomplishing the following: it favors coordination, improves focus, opens mathematical, logical harmony and auditory paths, feeds esteem, enriches perception, refines the sense of hearing, and strengths human awareness through art and history! The Epic welcomes all levels to embrace the life transforming challenge that Ballet Folklorico has to offer.

The 2019 CrossFit Open is at The Epic!

The Reebok CrossFit Games Open is back again for 2019! Step out of your comfort zone and try 5 new workouts that will test you against the sport’s top athletes as well as members of other boxes worldwide (more than 400,000 people tested their fitness in the Open last year)! Competing in the Open can be helpful for pushing yourself further, hitting new performance heights and conquering challenging exercises for the first time. You just might surprise yourself!

WHO
The Open is for everyone of all abilities, ages 14 and up. Members of the Epic who have registered for the Open at https://games.crossfit.com/ will be able to join us during regular Friday class times to have your workout judged by our CF2960 coaches (no CF drop in fee required if you show proof of Open registration. Non-members will need to purchase a day pass).

WHERE
2960 Epic Place, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. Workouts may be performed in our functional training area, the outside training space, the indoor tracks, or in the Warehouse. We will not know what the workouts will require until they are released by CrossFit.

WHEN

Open Play Pickleball at The Epic

The game of pickleball is expanding this Spring in Grand Prairie and will be available for all ages and abilities! Instruction and open play will be offered at three indoor facilities around town!

What is Pickleball?
Pickleball is a fun and easy-to-learn game that is taking recreation facilities around the country by storm! Played as doubles or singles, Pickleball is an entertaining sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.

Photography Basics with Ricky Saldivar

When: February 9th

Time: 3 – 4:30 pm

A workshop teaching technical and compositional techniques you can use with you phone or camera. Perfect for anyone who got a new camera over the holidays or looking to create more engaging content on social media. 

The class will cover do’s and dont’s, composition, controlling your camera and a specific time for practicing techniques around The Epic.

 


Pottery Workshop with Horacio Casillas

When: February 5th and 7th (Tuesday and Thursday)

Time: 7-8:30 pm (5th) and 7-8 pm (7th)

Pickup Artwork: February 9th, 11 am – 4 pm

Price: $15 per person (Sign up at member services desk)

An Epic opportunity to a creative experience, or create something personal for Valentine’s Day!  This two-part workshop teaches basic techniques for creating and glazing pinch pots.  Students will design and sculpt their pot during classes; then, the pots will be fired and ready for pickup, February 9th.
