Welcome Connie, Culinary Specialist, to The Epic team! With over 20 years of experience in sales, including event sales as a catering manager and director, she is well versed in outreach and the culinary arts. She has plenty of experience in teaching techniques, menu creation, and program marketing/implementation and will strive to bring these talents to the community of Grand Prairie. On July 19th we will be hosting another Open Mic Night. We welcome all acts to come share YOUR talents with us! We will set up 2 mics, 2 inputs and 2 monitors for quick transitions between acts.
Anyone can come on stage during the open mic, but if you have background music or any tech requirements please reach out beforehand so we can coordinate. Try to make your requirements as simple as possible so that we can make sure to save time for as many acts as possible.
Please note: If you plan to participate keep in mind that this Open Mic Night will be family friendly and we request you make sure all of your content remains clean for everyone.

The Epic Theater official partner: Texas Trust Credit Union, is excited to have Mariachi Sol Azteca join our stage for an afternoon performance on SATURDAY, JULY 13th at 2:00 pm.
Mariachi Sol Azteca is from the Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy and has been together as a school and ensemble for 6 years. The students travel to many workshops and competitions to make them better as an ensemble and individual players. They will be traveling to The Mariachi Nationals this summer to attend workshops with Mariachi Sol de Mexico and to compete at the Nationals competition. Mariachi Sol Azteca won first place at Nationals back in 2016.
This performance will be two 45 minute sets with a 15 minute intermission.

On Friday, May 31st The Epic Theater hosted its first Open Mic Night. We had 8 talented acts come out and showcase their skills for an audience.
Many were new to the stage, while others were there to hone their skills. We welcome all talents of every skill level. We had everything from folk, singer-songwriter, hip hop, spoken word, and acapella.
Back by popular demand, we will be hosting another Open Mic Night on Friday, July 19th. So, regardless if you’re a fine tuned professional or just starting out, this stage is for you! Whether or not you’re interested in getting on stage we welcome you to check out our local talent.

Monoprinting Class Saturday June 8
Class Name: Creating the Printed Image: Monoprints

About: Experiment with the endless possibilities of monoprints! In this introductory workshop, we’ll focus on the creation of simple and complex monoprints with a variety of creative approaches using stencils, brush techniques chine collé and layers of color. A review of design planning, hand printing and printing on the Epic’s new etching press will be covered. Discussion and technical demonstration will emphasize one-of-a-kind prints., working in a series, and developing images for personal art.
