#MotivationMonday: Tips for Achieving Your Goals

By | Epic Extras
  • Share Your Goals
Studies consistently show that sharing your goals with friends or family significantly increases success rates. Please share your goals and achievements with The Epic! We love to celebrate with you!
  • Keep it Simple
Break down big goals in to less daunting increments. For example, “I want to lose 30 lbs” vs. “I want to lose 10 lbs” x 3. The first 10 lbs is a goal met! That’s great motivation to tackle the next 10 lbs. Before you know it, the main goal is achieved.
  • Give & Take
Change doesn’t have to be painful! Redirect your habits.
    – When you want to have a soda, pick up an enjoyable book instead (Epic Reads has you covered!)
    – Kick caffeine, but take up a new fitness class (Checkout GroupFit & CrossFit 2960 membership upgrades!)
  • New Year’s Theme
Instead of a resolution, pick a one-word theme that sets the tone for the year. (Find theme inspiration here)
  • “Discomfort” Zones
Do something outside of your comfort zone that is challenging yet positive.

The Epic features hassle free membership options, innovative fitness, aquatics, fine arts & media, culinary programs, teen-based activities, athletics, library materials, and youth activities. We create life-changing opportunities that turn your goals into reality!

CrossFit 2960 WOD: 7/22 – 7/26

By | Epic Extras

CrossFit 2960 is excited to share daily WODs with the community. This month we are doing two Hero WODs a week. Hero workouts are pulled from the official CrossFit Library and are named after heroes who have given their lives in the line of duty. We do these workouts to remember these men and women and their families, and to remind us to think outside of ourselves.

Ready, Reset, Go!

By | Epic Extras

Time flies when you are having fun at The Epic! Now that we are halfway into 2019, this is an opportune time to “press pause” and take a moment to reflect on the New Year’s resolutions you may have set for yourself or family.
It is estimated that 40% of Americans make a New Year’s resolution. However, according to a study conducted by the University of Scranton and published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology, 60% of the most common New Year’s resolutions are dropped within 6 months and only 8% are achieved by years end. So what can we do to overcome the statistics and find long-term success?

Reset your Resolutions
Letting a resolution slip is not a failure! Erase that mindset immediately! It is an opportunity to evaluate what happened, what has changed, and reset. Rather than viewing resolutions as all or nothing, think in terms of goals. Resetting resolutions into smaller, attainable goals creates steady baby steps to success. Every day provides the chance to reset the actions and thought processes that are roadblocks to achievement. Every day is a fresh start!

Reset With The Epic
No matter the goal or where you currently are on the path to attainment, The Epic team is rooting for you! If you are not sure how to reset or just need encouragement to keep going, we are here to assist in your journey. The Epic features hassle free membership options, innovative fitness, aquatics, fine arts & media, culinary programs, teen-based activities, athletics, library materials, and youth activities. We create life-changing opportunities that turn your goals into reality!
