Change Lives!

By mayo 20, 2014 Extras épicos

On May 10, 2014 the citizens passed the referendum to design and build “The Epic” along with Central Park improvements.  This would be for part recreation center, water park, library, all-inclusive playground, amphitheater, trails, and much, much more.   We want YOU to put your thumb print on this project!

It’s time to unite and build a facility that frankly will:  CHANGE LIVES!

This weekly blog will keep you abreast of what is happening on the project, how you can be involved, and how you can send in questions, suggestions, and comments!

We sincerely want YOU and YOUR family involved in the project, and the Parks Board and your Parks, Arts, and Recreation Staff are dedicated to making sure everyone is in the loop regarding this legacy project!

First Up:  Selection of Architect:   Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is due Tuesday, June 3, 2014.    We will review the proposals and select a yet undetermined number and bring them in for in-house reviews.  We plan on taking the first choice to the City Council in July for approval.    This is a very complicated project, and we are dedicated to make all the right and meaningful assumptions as we committed to each citizen.

As of now, we are shooting for a May 2017 opening!   We will keep you updated if that changes!    Also, please note www.JoinTheEpic.com is your one stop shop to learn about, public meetings regarding the design of The Epic, how to leave your thoughts with us on-line, and continued weekly blog updates “Epic Extras”.

So stay tuned!   “The EPIC” starts changing lives May 2017!   It is going to be EPIC!
