We want EVERY child to experience the magic of Camp Epic, which is why we’re offering financial aid to help make it accessible for all!

Camp Epic Summer Registration Opens April 1st at 10 a.m.

It’s time to sign up for an unforgettable summer! Camp Epic is a fun youth day camp for children ages 6-15, and it’s offered during GPISD summer breaks. Campers will enjoy a variety of activities, including:

  • Recreational games

  • Swimming

  • Arts and crafts

  • Exploring The Epic’s amazing amenities

1. How do I apply for financial assistance?

Download the financial aid packet from our website and follow the instructions to apply. Don’t wait—apply today!

2. When does registration open for Camp Epic?

Online registration for Camp Epic opens April 1st at 10 a.m. Be ready to secure your spot—this camp will sell out fast!

3. Can I register if I’m not an Epic member?

Yes! Registration is open to both Epic members AND nonmembers. Everyone is welcome to sign up, but spots will fill up quickly!

4. What age group is Camp Epic for?

Camp Epic is designed for children ages 6-15. It’s the perfect summer adventure for your child!

5. What activities are available at Camp Epic?

Campers will enjoy a variety of activities including recreational games, swimming, arts and crafts, and exploring The Epic’s many amenities!

6. I recently moved in with family/friends who live in Grand Prairie. Can I apply for financial assistance?

Yes! You must show additional documentation, including a lease agreement with all persons residing in the home and proof of attendance in a Grand Prairie ISD school. Additional documents may be requested.

7. I own my home and do not have a lease or mortgage. Can I still apply?

Yes! Provide alternate documentation, including a notarized letter stating the above and a copy of your paid Grand Prairie property taxes for the year.

8. I co-parent my child(ren) through a court-ordered custody agreement. My child(ren) only live with me 50% of the summer. Can I apply?

Yes! You must be a resident of Grand Prairie. Additional documentation may be requested.

9. My adult children attend college and do not live in Grand Prairie during the school year. Must I include them in my household?

Yes, if they return to your residence during breaks and summer, you must include them and provide proof of enrollment from their college.

10. Must all members of my household submit a copy of their ID/Driver’s License?

Yes, all household members 18 and over must submit documentation.

11. Must I submit a copy of social security cards for all household adults and children?

Yes, due to the nature of this being a government grant, all household members and recipients of the grant must provide documentation.

12. When does my application get approved?

Applications are approved once all documentation has been received. Incomplete applications will delay approval.

13. How much will financial assistance cover?

Financial assistance may cover 25%, 50%, or 75% of your copay, depending on your income.

14. How will I be contacted on the decision of my application?

You will be contacted through email. Make sure your email is up to date. The email will include the approval or denial of your application, along with the reason if it was denied.

15. I am not a member of The Epic. Can I still apply?

Yes, but you must apply for an Epic membership for your child(ren) or family before registering for summer camp. You may purchase a membership just for the 3 months of camp. Contact Epic Guest Services for more details.

16. Do I have to pay for the Epic membership?

Yes, you will need to contact Epic Guest Services for membership information and potential financial assistance options.

17. Do I need to provide lunch, or is it included in the financial assistance?

Yes, parents/guardians must provide lunch and additional snacks for their child, as well as a non-refillable water bottle.

The route will take you on a scenic tour around the pond and through the vibrant EpicCentral, offering a beautiful backdrop as you run or walk your way to the finish line. No matter your fitness level, this is the perfect event for individuals and families to join together in an exciting outdoor activity.

🦖 Dino-mite Relay Race (18+):
Now for the main event — the Dino-mite Relay Race! If you’re ready to add some hilarity and friendly competition to your day, get your team together and sign up for this one-of-a-kind race! Participants will don inflatable dino costumes and race through the course in a fun, action-packed relay. This race is for adults (18+ only), so it’s your chance to let loose, laugh, and enjoy some friendly competition while dashing through the course in your best T-Rex costume!

Want to level up your life skills? The Epic is hosting a fun and practical series of 101 Classes to help you become more independent and confident in your everyday life. Whether you’re looking to get a grip on finances, improve your cooking game, or try your hand at sewing, we’ve got you covered!

Here’s the deal:

  • Ages: 13+
  • Cost: Just $10 for all 3 classes
  • Time: 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  • What’s Included: All materials are provided, so just show up ready to learn!

Finance 101: Feb. 4
Get ready to talk all things money! This class is perfect if you’ve ever felt lost when it comes to budgeting or managing your finances. We’ll cover the basics of budgeting, baking, and how to make your money work for you—all with some fun activities along the way!

Culinary 101: Feb. 12
If you’ve ever wondered about food safety or how to get comfortable in the kitchen, this one’s for you. You’ll get familiar with our Culinary Kitchen space, learn the essentials of food prep and safety, and leave with the confidence to start cooking on your own.

Sewing 101: Feb. 18
Always wanted to learn how to sew? This beginner class will teach you the basics, from threading a needle to stitching fabric. You’ll also get hands-on experience and all the materials you need to practice your new skills!

These classes are all about helping you gain practical knowledge and feel more self-sufficient. Plus, it’s a great chance to meet some awesome people while learning something new.

Your generous donations will go directly to supporting those who could use a little extra help during this time of year. We invite you to bring your donations—whether it’s a can of food or a new toy—to The Epic on December 10th or 17th and make a positive impact on your community.

We are also excited to announce a Call for Artists to help us promote this important cause. If you’re an artist or creative looking for a way to give back, we’d love to have you involved! Vyshyvanka Day with Ukrainian Cultural Club of Dallas

Ukrainian Cultural Club of Dallas with the support of the City of Grand Prairie – Sister City of Kalush, Ukraine invites you to the Ukrainian Cultural Celebration – Vyshyvanka Day 2024.

This will be a bright and special event that you will not want to miss. A wonderful opportunity for everyone to immerse in the rich cultural traditions of Ukraine, if only for an evening. The event will begin at 5 p.m. on May 18 with a Craft Bazaar, light refreshments, and live music by Veselka Ukrainian Singers of Dallas in the gallery. European handcrafts and beautiful goods will be offered by unique vendors. The concert program will feature festive performances by Zorya Ukrainian Dancers of Dallas, and the Ukrainian traditional wear show.

  • In the Epic Culinary Kitchen, their chef instructor will be teaching about Borsch, a traditional soup from the region.
  • In the Art Rooms, they will be holding a Pysanky Making Class, which is a decorative style of egg decorating
  • In the Theater, they will be hosting a concert, complete with a fashion gallery, live music, dance, and Tele bridge with Ukraine

All proceeds will be used to send Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine.

The number of tickets is limited. General admission is $25 per person.
