There is a 2-hour closure period for a facility wide deep clean from the hours of 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Sunday: CLOSED

The City of Grand Prairie and The Epic will continue to evaluate the health concerns and current COVID-19 cases to determine any further action. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause in your facility usage and will communicate on any future re-openings. Thank you for your understanding during these difficult times.

At this time we are not offering anual memberships, upgrades, day passes, or Epic/Epic Waters Combo Pass.

KIDS PLAY / TINY TOT BABYSITTING - EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 7, 2020

KidsPlay & TinyTots babysitting will be unavailable beginning Monday, December 7.

AQUATICS - EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 7, 2020

The Epic pool will be open for lap swim and limited open swim times. Locker rooms and showers will remain closed.

Fitness Swim – 4 lap lanes, Multi-Purpose pool, Vortex, Hot Tub, Jet Tub
For adults to lap swim, water walk, exercise or use the spa. Lap lane use is limited to 1 hour, register for a lane with Aquatic staff on deck.
Mornings
Monday – Friday:  6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Saturday: 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Evenings
Monday – Friday: 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
*GroupFit will reserve 2 lanes on Monday and Friday from 4:15 p.m. – 5:15pm.

Family Swim

  • *We apologize at this time we will not be offering Family Swim times until further notice.*

MODIFIED OPERATIONS

Temporary facility age policies will apply beginning Monday – Ages 12-13 must be accompanied by an adult 18+. Children 11 years or younger are not permitted to enter the facility until further notice.

Unfortunately the following amenities will not be available at this time and are subject to change as we implement additional phases of our facility:
  • Basketball court & multi-purpose court for open play sports
  • KidsPlay & TinyTots babysitting
  • Game room, Zone 1317 teen room, & KidsPlay parent play times
  • Family Swim
  • Personal training services
  • Massage therapy sessions
  • Outdoor fitness turf & equipment container
  • Epic Eats Café
  • Recording studio sessions
  • Programming and events such as art, culinary, theater, dance, athletic, & youth classes
  • Locker room access to showers and lockers (restrooms usage only)
  • Water fountains with exception of the (2) water bottle fill stations by the locker rooms. It is highly recommended you bring your own water bottle filled prior to visiting the facility.

MEMBERSHIP DETAILS

You may ask, “How does this modified opening effect your current membership plan?”
  • Annual membership purchases: Due to the initial closure timeframe dating back to March 14 and the limited amenities available at our facility during this reopening phase, all annual membership plans will receive a 6 month extension! You do not need to contact The Epic to apply this change as it will automatically be applied
  •  Annual Epic/Epic Waters combo pass purchases: All annual combo passes will also receive a 6 month extension at both facilities! You do not need to contact to apply this change as it will automatically be applied.
  • Annual upgrade purchase: You may choose to add the 6 month extension to your upgrade or opt for a prorated refund of this upgrade dating back to the March 14 closure as the availability for upgrade usage for GroupFit, CrossFit, KidsPlay/TinyTots, and VIP Parking is unknown at this time. The 6 month extension will be applied by default, please email us at jointheepic@gptx.org if you prefer a prorated refund for your annual upgrade plan.
  • Monthly auto-draft membership plans: All auto-draft membership plans were cancelled during the closure period. You will not automatically be charged when we reopen as these memberships plans were deactivated. We hope to have you back as an active member, but it is solely your decision whether or not to re-enroll. Due to the temporary amenities available, the standard monthly auto-draft fees will be adjusted to a 50% discount for a temporary time until more amenities become available.
  • Monthly auto-draft upgrades: Similar to the membership plan, these upgrades were cancelled and you are not being charged and will not have an active upgrade. Since these upgrade amenities are not available at this time, auto-draft upgrades will not be available for purchase until further notice.
  • We currently are not accepting new members at this time. Members with active monthly auto draft, 1-month, and 3-month memberships purchased prior to closing March 14th are eligible to re-enroll in the membership plan. Payment is due at the time of re-enrollment.
  • Day passes, guests, and drop-ins will not be available at this time.
  • There will be no cash handling or exchanging of any kind. All transactions must by made by credit or debit card.
  • We are currently in the process of switching software providers for our facility. Your first visit back to The Epic will require a new picture taken for our system, verification of account information, and possible redistribution of membership cards. Those on the monthly auto-draft plan will need to bring their Visa, Mastercard, or Discover card they would like to use for re-enrollment payment. We appreciate your patience during this time.

FACILITY PROTOCOLS

What to expect when visiting The Epic:
  • In compliance with state orders, we will operate at a maximum 50% capacity. However, The Epic has the right to use discretion and limit that number further for the safety of everyone in the building.
  • Each area throughout the facility will have a limited capacity of people allowed in each space.
  • Equipment has been spaced, at least 6 ft apart, across other areas of the building including the Grand Atrium, basketball court, multi-purpose court, and 2nd floor common areas in order to enhance social distancing. Some equipment may not be accessible at this time or may not have dedicated tv screens.
  • All members and staff entering the facility will be subject to a screening process, including temperature checks.
  • Epic staff will have protective wear such as masks, gloves, and sneeze guards at desks for their protection. Please maintain proper social distancing throughout the facility including interaction with staff.
  • The VIP entrance will be temporarily closed. EVERYONE must enter and exit through the MAIN entrance, located in the main breezeway between The Epic & EpicWaters. This allows for close monitoring of the capacity limits.
